Frequently Asked Questions:
What are your prices?
Voice Work pricing is a complex beast, and there is no one-size fits all. Prices are always negotiable. The pricing system includes the following:
The 'Basic Session Fee’ (BSF). This is my minimum fee for a session, and varies depending upon the type of job.
Studio Fee. This is different to the ‘Basic Studio Fee’, which is the amount that the Recording Studio Charges per hour. Luckily, because I have my own facilities, I do not typically need to charge this, however if studio hire is required then that will need to be taken into account.
‘Post’. This refers to my editing, and I charge the same set amount per hour, across all project types.
Usage. This is the most complex area of Voice Work. What you intend to use my voice for, and where will significantly alter this amount. For example, a typical Corporate Explainer Video for use on a company’s own website would not incur a Usage Fee, however using my recordings in a high profile, prime-time global advertising campaign for two years might incur a charge of several thousand pounds. As the name suggests, the fee is for the way the recording is used.
Cost Per Word (CPW). This is literally the charge made per word. Again, the rate varies depending upon how and where it will be used. E-Learning at the lower end of the scale, Commercials at the higher end. The more words required, the lower the CPW typically becomes.
Technical terms/language. Is your topic a technical one? Perhaps you need an Explainer Video discussing Chemistry or Engineering? You have come to the right place! I will make sure that not only am I sure of the pronunciation of every word and term, but also that I understand the topic I am presenting so that I can make sure I am presenting it properly. It is all too clear when a narrator doesn’t understand the subject, and it can undermine the whole piece. I charge only 50% of CPW extra for this.
Give us an example…

HOWEVER…
The client liked the draft work so much that they have decided to completely overhaul their website media, adding Videos to every page. With this in mind, we negotiate a new, lower price, for this and ongoing work!
This is why a simple ‘Price List’ isn’t generally suitable for Voice Over. It is FAR better to have a conversation about your requirements, and then we can work out a plan to fit your budget. Contact me today for a Free consultation.
I need a Live MC, do you do that and are you available?
Yes! MC-ing is one of my main areas! I can travel globally, if required. It is best to discuss your specific requirements and dates, so click the above link and get in touch.
An alternative option to Live MC-ing would be to record my entire MC script for you, including Welcomes, Introductions of VIPs, Key announcements (Meals etc.) award presentations, and even Emergency/Public Service announcements (“Ladies and Gentlemen, please return to your seats/make your way to the exits” etc.) These can all be recorded and supplied for your event DJ to play them as required throughout the night.
Is there a Maximum or Minimum Word count that you will do?
No.
Do you do Pro-Bono work for Charities?
Yes. Usually. Where possible I always prefer to work Pro-bono for charities, but it depends upon the nature and size of the project. Contact me to discuss your project further.
